I went to an entrepreneur think tank (an event where a panel of people provide feedback on a business idea/challenge) today at HUBUD and met someone who hadn’t heard of a mindset coach.

She was creating a program to support infoprenuers (entrepreneurs whose product is expertise) to launch and I wondered what support she had in place for the inner work – what to do when fear comes up, and how to support people in transcending it and accessing courage – and she hadn’t thought of that… 

It got me reflecting on how much of the learning and development world is focussed on disseminating knowledge. In my experience that is not what emerging entrepreneurs lack.We are inundated with information, much of it freely available via the interwebs. 

 What they need most (at least those I’ve encountered and come to serve) is a space to see and transform their fears and limiting beliefs so they can implement and execute on what they know.

I’m not saying it’s one or the other… In business we need both: the strategy and the mindset with which to apply it most effectively. To me it would be a disservice to neglect either. So I’m glad I got to take part in the dialogue today and offer my humble opinion.
