Contrary to Popular Opinion…
The views I hold and openly express are confronting for many people.
Those of us who have been raised in Western society have been conditioned to be so externally referenced that the concept of letting our inner Self light the path and lead the way is incomprehensible.
Just reflect: did your parents expect that you would follow their value system, or did they encourage you to look inward and discover your own?
This is how conditioning is perpetuated. And normalised.
We’re taught to look to parents and teachers for learning instead of being encouraged to cultivate the qualities of studentship within us.
We’re told that knowledge comes from the outside rather than the inside.
That gratitude, freedom, and joy are things to be attained when certain conditions are met rather than feelings we can tap into at any moment we choose.
To quote Marshall Goldsmith (one of world’s best known leader’s coaches who has written about 25 books) “The great Western disease is thinking I’ll be happy when…”
And so of course when Life isn’t showing up the way we want it to be, the default settings are to blame rather than take responsibility.
And from that space we can’t help but feel victimised, which then elicits a variety of other feelings like frustration, anger, and disappointment.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. We can learn how to internally reference. When we do that, we can hold steady in and through the changing tides. In other words, we become unf*ckwithable.
Then in every moment we are conscious, we have the freedom to choose how we want to meet the moment – regardless of the circumstances.
Even though these are foundational principles of yoga – freedom and fulfilment is available here now in this moment – I wouldn’t have learned this as quickly and embodied it as fully without Deb Maes modelling it for me so skilfully.
I met her at training at the end of 2013 when I had just recently started my business, incredibly passionate that everyone on the planet have access to the information about how we are creating our reality.
And she’s been alongside me ever since, in a variety of different roles: coach, mentor, friend, business partner, sister.
She was there when I had just 27 cents in my bank account, thousands in credit card debt, and a partner who was not happy with me for leaving my job to pursue my passion for brain training.
She was there reminding me of my own resourcefulness when I decide to leave that partner, and wasn’t sure where I was going to go.
Years later when I was in another partnership that all my other friends classified as domestic violence, deb saw through to the real reason we had been brought together: for me to deepen my capacity for compassion and embody my resilience even more fully.
Deb and I have been coaching for two decades and together we have created and delivered a variety of programs from Embody Transformation to the Inner Realm Immersion Sanctuary, with our online brain training program Your Success Code (YSC) as our flagship.
To give people a taste of YSC, earlier this year we created a masterclass to help you get to the heart of what it is you really, truly, deeply desire in your life. And to access it right now.
It would be my joy to share this masterclass with you for free.
Because the struggle is optional. But only when you have the knowledge, skills, and support to make it that way.
